New Tools for Mark-Making

We have been set the task of making a range of monotypes. As  i love printing, every time I see a new object that might make interesting marks, I buy it.
Recently a Japanese shop provided some new.

The first one turned out to be a vegetable cutter so it cut the pages if I pressed too hard but gave interesting fine lines if I pressed lightly with the six small blades.

This photo shows an oversize fork (15 cms) and a table brush. Part of the fun is anticipating what the tools will do!

This image shows some of the monotype experiments created with the two above tools.

Having exhausted circles and straight lines I got into more interesting marks by varying the pressure, turning the object, not quite completing lines, varying the size and by making small marks or dots spaced out.
